Merry Christmas, from my family to yours!
Celebrations of the birth of Jesus Christ are as diverse as the countless Christian communities which have existed over the last 2000 years, but for me, it is a celebration of the beginning of the great work He did in mortality, which culminated in the liberation of mankind from the bonds of sin, that by finding forgiveness we also find the freedom to reach our full potential in eternity. But even if you don't share my beliefs, Christmas is a time where we step away from our day-to-day work and enjoy building special memories in time spent with family and friends, also reflecting on the year that was which will be coming to a close soon.
Doing so reminds me of the great many blessings I have in my life, and also for the great cause of peace and liberty for which I choose to fight. Even here in Florida where we've been comparatively fortunate, there's no denying that the last two years have been like nothing most of us have ever seen. But it's important for us to recognize that the authoritarian government response to COVID is not some aberration from the norm. It is the logical and predictable progression of the government expansion which has been persistent under both Democrat and Republican control, as they are anchored in the belief in an omnipotent government that has legitimate authority to override any decision in our lives. And even for those of us lucky enough to have not seen our lives overly disrupted directly by restrictions, the reckless spending and expansion of the money supply which came with those policies are now impacting all of our lives through inflation and the associated economic uncertainty.
Even amidst these issues with high inflation, the national debt approaching 30 trillion dollars, and after the US’s departure from Afghanistan, the longest war in American History, the two party establishment, including both of their likely candidates for US Senate here in Florida, decided to increase ”defense” spending by over 5%, totaling over three quarters of a trillion in just defense spending for one year. I’m happy to offer Floridians an alternative to the recklessness and corruption on display here.
But it’s not a battle anyone can fight alone. I need your help to make change possible, so as you enjoy this special time with family and reflect on both the last year and the year to come, I ask you to consider what is at stake. Our nation is on a dark path and it will require bold action from all of us who see it in order to break the cycle. Consider the cost of doing nothing and allowing this to go on, then please decide what you're able to contribute to this cause and click the button below to make that happen. I wish you all of the best this Christmas and in the coming New Year and I ask you to help me make the biggest wish of all a reality - a nation set free in our lifetimes.
